Aldi Rewinds To 2019 By Slashing Prices On Thanksgiving Goods

BATAVIA, IL — It might be 2022, but Aldi is throwing it back to 2019 by offering 2019 prices on Thanksgiving staples.

During the promotion, which started Nov. 2, stores are matching prices for discounts of up to 30 percent, officials announced. Thanksgiving Price Rewind will last through Nov. 29.

Customer favorites including brie cheese, prosciutto, cornbread stuffing, fresh brown-and-serve rolls and apple pie are among the items included in the Batavia-based retailer’s initiative. To spot which items are covered by the discount, shoppers should look for a red “Thanksgiving Price Rewind” icon in their local ad and throughout the store.

“Providing amazing products at the absolute lowest prices is what we’ve always done, and we know right now that’s more important than ever,” Dave Rinaldo, president of ALDI U.S., said in a statement.

The president said company executives are expecting “tens of millions of customers” to visit Aldi to shop the rewind prices.

“We want them to know they can count on us,” he said. “So why not attempt that additional side dish this year, or invite over a few more friends or family members? You can rest easy knowing ALDI has your back this Thanksgiving, and beyond.”

Officials said they hope the company will continue to be the “low-price leader in every community it serves” no matter “what’s going on in the world.”
